⁴⁷ praising God and having favor with all the people. And ^(A)the Lord added ^[a]to the church daily those who were being saved.

^5 (A)So the churches were strengthened in the faith, and increased in number daily.

¹³ Yet ^(A)none of the rest dared join them, ^(B)but the people esteemed them highly. ¹⁴ And believers were increasingly added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and women,

Christ the Power and Wisdom of God^(A)

¹⁸ For the ^[a]message of the cross is ^(B)foolishness to ^(C)those who are perishing, but to us ^(D)who are being saved it is the ^(E)power of God.

⁴¹ Then those who ^[a]gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them.

³⁹ For the promise is to you and ^(A)to your children, and ^(B)to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.”

¹⁸ For he who serves Christ in ^[a]these things ^(A)is acceptable to God and approved by men.

²⁴ For he was a good man, ^(A)full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. ^(B)And a great many people were added to the Lord.

⁴ But when ^(A)the kindness and the love of ^(B)God our Savior toward man appeared, ^5 (C)not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through ^(D)the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,

⁴⁸ Now when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and glorified the word of the Lord. ^(A)And as many as had been appointed to eternal life believed.
