³⁸ Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ so that your sins may be forgiven, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.^(A)

¹⁶ And now why do you delay? Get up, be baptized, and have your sins washed away, calling on his name.’^(A)

⁴⁸ So he ordered them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they invited him to stay for several days.^(A)

⁴⁷ and that repentance and forgiveness of sins is to be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem.^(A)

¹² But when they believed Philip, who was proclaiming the good news about the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.^(A)

¹⁹ Repent, therefore, and turn to God so that your sins may be wiped out,

¹⁶ The one who believes and is baptized will be saved, but the one who does not believe will be condemned.

²¹ And baptism, which this prefigured, now saves you—not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for^[a] a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,^(A)

Gentiles Receive the Holy Spirit

⁴⁴ While Peter was still speaking, the Holy Spirit fell upon all who heard the word.^{(A) 45} The circumcised believers who had come with Peter were astounded that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on the gentiles,^(B)

³ Do you not know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?^(A)
