Acts 2:27-40

²⁷For you will not abandon my soul to ^(A)Hades,
^(B)or let your ^(C)Holy One ^(D)see corruption.
²⁸You have made known to me the paths of life;
you will make me full of gladness with your presence.’

²⁹“Brothers, I may say to you with confidence about ^(E)the patriarch David ^(F)that he both died and ^(G)was buried, and ^(H)his tomb is with us to this day. ³⁰^(I)Being therefore a prophet, and knowing that ^(J)God had sworn with an oath to him that he would set one of his descendants on his throne, ³¹he foresaw and spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, that ^(K)he was not abandoned to Hades, nor did his flesh see corruption. ³²This Jesus ^(L)God raised up, ^(M)and of that we all are witnesses. ³³^(N)Being therefore ^(O)exalted at the right hand of God, and having received from ^(P)the Father ^(Q)the promise of the Holy Spirit, ^(R)he has poured out this that you yourselves are seeing and hearing. ³⁴For ^(S)David did not ascend into the heavens, but he himself says,

^(T)“‘The Lord said to my Lord,
“Sit at my right hand,
³⁵ until I make your enemies your footstool.”’

³⁶Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that ^(U)God has made him ^(V)both Lord and Christ, this Jesus ^(W)whom you crucified.”

³⁷Now when ^(X)they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, ^(Y)what shall we do?” ³⁸And Peter said to them, ^(Z)“Repent and ^(AA)be baptized every one of you ^(AB)in the name of Jesus Christ ^(AC)for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive ^(AD)the gift of the Holy Spirit. ³⁹For ^(AE)the promise is for you and ^(AF)for your children and for all ^(AG)who are far off, everyone ^(AH)whom the Lord our God calls to himself.” ⁴⁰And with many other words he bore witness and continued to exhort them, saying, ^(AI)“Save yourselves from this ^(AJ)crooked generation.”
