New Revised Standard Version Updated Edition
5 When Silas and Timothy arrived from Macedonia, Paul was occupied with proclaiming the word,[a] testifying to the Jews that the Messiah[b] was Jesus.(A) 6 When they opposed and reviled him, in protest he shook the dust from his clothes[c] and said to them, “Your blood be on your own heads! I am innocent. From now on I will go to the gentiles.”(B) 7 Then he left the synagogue[d] and went to the house of a man named Titius[e] Justus, a worshiper of God; his house was next door to the synagogue.(C) 8 Crispus, the official of the synagogue, became a believer in the Lord, together with all his household, and many of the Corinthians who heard Paul became believers and were baptized.(D) 9 One night the Lord said to Paul in a vision, “Do not be afraid, but speak and do not be silent,(E) 10 for I am with you, and no one will lay a hand on you to harm you, for there are many in this city who are my people.”(F) 11 He stayed there a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them.

5 But when (A)Silas and Timothy (B)came down from (C)Macedonia, Paul began devoting himself completely to the word, (D)testifying to the Jews that (E)Jesus was the [a]Christ. 6 But when they resisted and blasphemed, he (F)shook out his garments and said to them, “Your (G)blood is [b]on your own heads! I am clean. From now on I will go (H)to the Gentiles.” 7 Then he left [c]the synagogue and went to the house of a man named [d]Titius Justus, (I)a worshiper of God, whose house was next door to the synagogue. 8 (J)Crispus, (K)the leader of the synagogue, believed in the Lord (L)together with his entire household; and many of the (M)Corinthians, as they listened to Paul, were believing and being baptized. 9 And the Lord said to Paul by (N)a vision at night, “Do not be afraid any longer, but go on speaking and do not be silent; 10 for I am with you, and no one will attack you to harm you, for I have many people in this city.” 11 And he settled there for a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them.
