²⁶ So he began to speak boldly in the synagogue. When Aquila and Priscilla heard him, they took him aside and explained to him the way of God more accurately.

^18 (A)but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

^(B)To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.

The Peril of Not Progressing

6 Therefore, ^(A)leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to ^[a]perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from ^(B)dead works and of faith toward God,

²¹ And the eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you”; nor again the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.”

²⁵ This man had been instructed in the way of the Lord; and being ^(A)fervent in spirit, he spoke and taught accurately the things of the Lord, ^(B)though he knew only the baptism of John.

³ Therefore they stayed there a long time, speaking boldly in the Lord, ^(A)who was bearing witness to the word of His grace, granting signs and ^(B)wonders to be done by their hands.

¹⁹ and for me, that utterance may be given to me, ^(A)that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, ²⁰ for which ^(B)I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

Avoid Worldly Wisdom

^18 (A)Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you seems to be wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise.

²³ So when they had appointed him a day, many came to him at his lodging, ^(A)to whom he explained and solemnly testified of the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus ^(B)from both the Law of Moses and the Prophets, from morning till evening.

² And he found a certain Jew named ^(A)Aquila, born in Pontus, who had recently come from Italy with his wife Priscilla (because Claudius had commanded all the Jews to depart from Rome); and he came to them. ³ So, because he was of the same trade, he stayed with them ^(B)and worked; for by occupation they were tentmakers.
