¹³ They said, “This man is persuading people to worship God in ways that are contrary to the law.”

⁸ Paul said in his defense, “I have in no way committed an offense against the law of the Jews or against the temple or against the emperor.”^(A)

⁵ We have, in fact, found this man a pestilent fellow, an agitator among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes.^{[a](A) 6} He even tried to profane the temple, so we seized him.^[b](B)

²⁸ shouting, “Fellow Israelites,^[a] help! This is the man who is teaching everyone everywhere against our people, our law, and this place; more than that, he has actually brought Greeks into the temple and has defiled this holy place.”^(A)

¹³ They set up false witnesses who said, “This man never stops saying things against this holy place and the law,^(A)

¹⁵ but since it is a matter of questions about words and names and your own law, see to it yourselves; I do not wish to be a judge of these matters.”

⁴ Every Sabbath he would argue in the synagogue and would try to convince Jews and Greeks.^(A)
