¹³ saying, “This fellow persuades men to worship God contrary to the law.”

⁸ while he answered for himself, ^(A)“Neither against the law of the Jews, nor against the temple, nor against Caesar have I offended in anything at all.”

^5 (A)For we have found this man a plague, a creator of dissension among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes. ^6 (B)He even tried to profane the temple, and we seized him, ^[a]and wanted ^(C)to judge him according to our law.

²⁸ crying out, “Men of Israel, help! This is the man ^(A)who teaches all men everywhere against the people, the law, and this place; and furthermore he also brought Greeks into the temple and has defiled this holy place.”

¹³ They also set up false witnesses who said, “This man does not cease to speak ^[a]blasphemous words against this holy place and the law;

¹⁵ But if it is a ^(A)question of words and names and your own law, look to it yourselves; for I do not want to be a judge of such matters.”

^4 (A)And he reasoned in the synagogue every Sabbath, and persuaded both Jews and Greeks.
