⁹ Which of all these does not know^(A)
    that the hand of the Lord has done this?^(B)
10 In his hand is the life^(C) of every creature
    and the breath of all mankind.^(D)

⁵ This is what God the Lord says—
the Creator of the heavens,^(A) who stretches them out,
    who spreads out the earth^(B) with all that springs from it,^(C)
    who gives breath^(D) to its people,
    and life to those who walk on it:

¹⁶ I will not accuse^(A) them forever,
    nor will I always be angry,^(B)
for then they would faint away because of me—
    the very people^(C) I have created.
