²³ For as I passed along and observed the objects of your worship, I found also an altar with this inscription: ^(A)‘To the unknown god.’ ^(B)What therefore you worship ^(C)as unknown, this I proclaim to you.

^22 (A)You worship what you do not know; ^(B)we worship what we know, for ^(C)salvation is ^(D)from the Jews.

Paul's Concern for the Galatians

⁸ Formerly, when you ^(A)did not know God, you ^(B)were enslaved to those that by nature ^(C)are not gods. ⁹ But now that you have come to know God, or rather ^(D)to be known by God, ^(E)how can you turn back again to ^(F)the weak and worthless elementary principles of the world, whose slaves you want to be once more?

^3 (A)And this is eternal life, ^(B)that they know you, ^(C)the only ^(D)true God, and ^(E)Jesus Christ whom you have sent.

^25 (A)O righteous Father, even though ^(B)the world does not know you, I know you, and these know that you have sent me.

²¹ For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach^[a] to save those who believe.

^30 (A)The times of ignorance ^(B)God overlooked, but ^(C)now he ^(D)commands all people everywhere to repent,

²⁰ And we know that the Son of God has come and ^(A)has given us understanding, so that we may know ^(B)him who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and ^(C)eternal life.

⁴ who opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, ^(A)proclaiming himself to be God.
