Paul’s Vision of the Man of Macedonia

Paul and his companions traveled throughout the region of Phrygia(A) and Galatia,(B) having been kept by the Holy Spirit from preaching the word in the province of Asia.(C) When they came to the border of Mysia, they tried to enter Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus(D) would not allow them to. So they passed by Mysia and went down to Troas.(E) During the night Paul had a vision(F) of a man of Macedonia(G) standing and begging him, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.” 10 After Paul had seen the vision, we(H) got ready at once to leave for Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel(I) to them.

Evangelization of Europe

They went through the region of Phrygia and Galatia and were prevented by the Holy Spirit from speaking the message in Asia.(A) When they came to Mysia, they tried to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus(B) did not allow them. So, bypassing Mysia, they came down to Troas.(C) During the night a vision appeared to Paul: A Macedonian man was standing and pleading with him, “Cross over to Macedonia and help us!”(D) 10 After(E) he had seen the vision, we[a] immediately made efforts to set out for Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to evangelize them.
