Timothy Joins Paul and Silas

16 Now Paul also arrived at (A)Derbe and at (B)Lystra. And behold, a disciple was there, named (C)Timothy, the son of a (D)Jewish woman who was a believer, but his father was a Greek, and he was well spoken of by (E)the brothers who were in (F)Lystra and (G)Iconium. Paul wanted this man to [a]go with him, and he (H)took him and circumcised him because of the Jews who were in those parts, for they all knew that his father was a Greek.

Timothy Joins Paul and Silas

16 Paul arrived in Derbe and in Lystra, where there was a disciple named Timothy, who was the son of a believing Jewish woman, but his father was a Greek. The brothers in Lystra and Iconium spoke well of him. Paul wanted Timothy to accompany him, so he took him and circumcised him on account of the Jews who lived in those places, because they all knew that his father was a Greek.
