⁹ And a vision appeared to Paul in the night: a man of Macedonia was standing there, urging him and saying, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.”

A Riot at Ephesus

²¹ Now after these events Paul resolved in the Spirit ^(A)to pass through ^(B)Macedonia and Achaia and ^(C)go to Jerusalem, saying, “After I have been there, ^(D)I must also see Rome.”

^5 (A)When Silas and Timothy arrived from Macedonia, Paul ^(B)was occupied with the word, ^(C)testifying to the Jews that the Christ was ^(D)Jesus.

¹⁰ Now there was a disciple at Damascus named ^(A)Ananias. The Lord said to him in a vision, “Ananias.” And he said, ^(B)“Here I am, Lord.” ¹¹ And the Lord said to him, “Rise and go to the street called Straight, and at the house of Judas look for a man ^(C)of Tarsus named Saul, for behold, he is praying, ¹² and he has seen in a vision a man named Ananias come in and ^(D)lay his hands on him so that he might regain his sight.”

²⁶ For ^(A)Macedonia and Achaia have been pleased to make some contribution for the poor among the saints at Jerusalem.

Paul in Macedonia and Greece

20 After the uproar ceased, Paul sent for the disciples, and after encouraging them, he said farewell and ^(A)departed for Macedonia.

⁹ And the Lord said to Paul ^(A)one night in ^(B)a vision, ^(C)“Do not be afraid, but go on speaking and do not be silent, ^10 (D)for I am with you, and ^(E)no one will attack you to harm you, for ^(F)I have many in this city who are my people.”

¹⁰ for that indeed is what ^(A)you are doing to all the brothers throughout Macedonia. But we urge you, brothers, to ^(B)do this more and more,

⁷ so that you became an example to all the believers in Macedonia and in Achaia. ⁸ For not only has the word of the Lord ^(A)sounded forth from you in Macedonia and Achaia, but your faith in God has gone forth ^(B)everywhere, so that we need not say anything.

⁷ So ^(A)to keep me from becoming conceited because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations,^{[a] (B)}a thorn was given me in the flesh, ^(C)a messenger of Satan to harass me, to keep me from becoming conceited.
