¹⁸ And this she did for many days.

But Paul, ^(A)greatly ^[a]annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” ^(B)And he came out that very hour.

¹⁷ And these ^(A)signs will follow those who ^[a]believe: ^(B)In My name they will cast out demons; ^(C)they will speak with new tongues;

The Seventy Return with Joy

¹⁷ Then ^(A)the ^[a]seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.”

¹⁸ And He said to them, ^(B)“I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. ¹⁹ Behold, ^(C)I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

^12 (A)so that even handkerchiefs or aprons were brought from his body to the sick, and the diseases left them and the evil spirits went out of them. ^13 (B)Then some of the itinerant Jewish exorcists ^(C)took it upon themselves to call the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying, ^[a]“We ^[b]exorcise you by the Jesus whom Paul ^(D)preaches.” ¹⁴ Also there were seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, who did so.

¹⁵ And the evil spirit answered and said, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?”

¹⁶ Then the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, ^[c]overpowered them, and prevailed against ^[d]them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. ¹⁷ This became known both to all Jews and Greeks dwelling in Ephesus; and ^(E)fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified.

³⁴ And Peter said to him, “Aeneas, ^(A)Jesus the Christ heals you. Arise and make your bed.” Then he arose immediately.

⁶ Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: ^(A)In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.”

²⁵ When Jesus saw that the people came running together, He ^(A)rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, “Deaf and dumb spirit, I command you, come out of him and enter him no more!” ²⁶ Then the spirit cried out, convulsed him greatly, and came out of him. And he became as one dead, so that many said, “He is dead.”

³⁴ Then He healed many who were sick with various diseases, and ^(A)cast out many demons; and He ^(B)did not allow the demons to speak, because they knew Him.

^15 (A)Having disarmed ^(B)principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.
