¹² and from there to ^(A)Philippi, which is the ^[a]foremost city of that part of Macedonia, a colony. And we were staying in that city for some days.

² But ^[a]even after we had suffered before and were spitefully treated at ^(A)Philippi, as you know, we were ^(B)bold in our God to speak to you the gospel of God in much conflict.

Greeting

1 Paul and Timothy, bondservants of Jesus Christ,

To all the saints in Christ Jesus who are in Philippi, with the ^[a]bishops and ^(A)deacons:

⁶ But we sailed away from Philippi after ^(A)the Days of Unleavened Bread, and in five days joined them ^(B)at Troas, where we stayed seven days.

²¹ and they teach customs which are not lawful for us, being Romans, to receive or observe.”

⁹ And a vision appeared to Paul in the night. A ^(A)man of Macedonia stood and pleaded with him, saying, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.”
