¹² and from there to ^(A)Philippi, which is a leading city of the^[a] district of Macedonia and ^(B)a Roman colony. We remained in this city some days.

² But though we had already suffered and been shamefully treated ^(A)at Philippi, as you know, ^(B)we had boldness in our God ^(C)to declare to you the gospel of God in the midst of much ^(D)conflict.

Greeting

1 Paul and Timothy, servants^[a] of Christ Jesus,

To all the ^(A)saints in Christ Jesus who are at Philippi, with the ^(B)overseers^[b] and ^(C)deacons:^[c]

⁶ but we sailed away from Philippi after ^(A)the days of Unleavened Bread, and in five days we came to them at Troas, where we stayed for seven days.

²¹ They ^(A)advocate customs that are not lawful for us ^(B)as Romans to accept or practice.”

⁹ And a vision appeared to Paul in the night: a man of Macedonia was standing there, urging him and saying, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.”
