¹³ After they finished speaking, ^(A)James replied, “Brothers, listen to me.

¹⁷ But ^(A)motioning to them with his hand to be silent, he described to them how the Lord had brought him out of the prison. And he said, “Tell these things to ^(B)James and to ^(C)the brothers.”^[a] Then he departed and went to another place.

Greetings.

¹² For before certain men came from James, ^(A)he was eating with the Gentiles; but when they came he drew back and separated himself, fearing ^(B)the circumcision party.^[a]

⁹ and when James and Cephas and John, ^(A)who seemed to be ^(B)pillars, perceived the ^(C)grace that was given to me, they ^(D)gave the right hand of fellowship to Barnabas and me, that we should go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised.

Hearing and Doing the Word

^19 (A)Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person ^(B)be quick to hear, ^(C)slow to speak, ^(D)slow to anger;

¹⁹ But I saw none of the other apostles except James ^(A)the Lord's brother.

³⁰ If a revelation is made to another sitting there, ^(A)let the first be silent. ³¹ For you can all prophesy one by one, so that all may learn and all be encouraged, ³² and the spirits of prophets are subject to prophets. ³³ For God is not a God of ^(B)confusion but of peace.
