³ Not only so, but we^[a] also glory in our sufferings,^(A) because we know that suffering produces perseverance;^(B)

³² Remember those earlier days after you had received the light,^(A) when you endured in a great conflict full of suffering.^(B)

³⁶ You need to persevere^(A) so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.^(B)

²⁹ For it has been granted to you^(A) on behalf of Christ not only to believe in him, but also to suffer^(B) for him,

³ because you know that the testing of your faith^(A) produces perseverance.^{(B) 4} Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature^(C) and complete, not lacking anything.
