²⁰ However, when the disciples gathered around him, he rose up and went into the city. And the next day he departed with Barnabas to Derbe.

⁹ Yes, we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should ^(A)not trust in ourselves but in God who raises the dead, ^10 (B)who delivered us from so great a death, and ^[a]does deliver us; in whom we trust that He will still deliver us,

20 After the uproar had ceased, Paul called the disciples to himself, embraced them, and ^(A)departed to go to Macedonia.

⁴⁰ So they went out of the prison ^(A)and entered the house of Lydia; and when they had seen the brethren, they encouraged them and departed.

⁶ they became aware of it and ^(A)fled to Lystra and Derbe, cities of Lycaonia, and to the surrounding region.

The Witnesses Killed

⁷ When they ^(A)finish their testimony, ^(B)the beast that ascends ^(C)out of the bottomless pit ^(D)will make war against them, overcome them, and kill them. ⁸ And their dead bodies will lie in the street of ^(E)the great city which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, ^(F)where also ^[a]our Lord was crucified. ^9 (G)Then those from the peoples, tribes, tongues, and nations ^[b]will see their dead bodies three-and-a-half days, ^(H)and not allow their dead bodies to be put into graves. ^10 (I)And those who dwell on the earth will rejoice over them, make merry, ^(J)and send gifts to one another, ^(K)because these two prophets tormented those who dwell on the earth.

The Witnesses Resurrected

^11 (L)Now after the three-and-a-half days ^(M)the breath of life from God entered them, and they stood on their feet, and great fear fell on those who saw them. ¹² And ^[c]they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, “Come up here.” ^(N)And they ascended to heaven ^(O)in a cloud, ^(P)and their enemies saw them.

⁹ And in a window sat a certain young man named Eutychus, who was sinking into a deep sleep. He was overcome by sleep; and as Paul continued speaking, he fell down from the third story and was taken up dead. ¹⁰ But Paul went down, ^(A)fell on him, and embracing him said, ^(B)“Do not trouble yourselves, for his life is in him.” ¹¹ Now when he had come up, had broken bread and eaten, and talked a long while, even till daybreak, he departed. ¹² And they brought the young man in alive, and they were not a little comforted.

Timothy Joins Paul and Silas

16 Then he came to ^(A)Derbe and Lystra. And behold, a certain disciple was there, ^(B)named Timothy, ^(C)the son of a certain Jewish woman who believed, but his father was Greek.
