¹⁷ yet he has not left himself without a witness in doing good, giving you rains from heaven and fruitful seasons and filling you with food and your hearts with joy.”^(A)

¹⁹ For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. ²⁰ Ever since the creation of the world God’s eternal power and divine nature, invisible though they are, have been seen and understood through the things God has made. So they are without excuse,^(A)

¹⁴ then he^[a] will give the rain for your land in its season, the early rain and the later rain, and you will gather in your grain, your wine, and your oil,^(A)

¹⁷ Elijah was a human like us, and he prayed fervently that it might not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain on the earth.^{(A) 18} Then he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth yielded its harvest.^(B)

¹⁷ As for those who in the present age are rich, command them not to be haughty or to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches but rather on God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.^(A)

²⁶ I will make them and the region around my hill a blessing, and I will send down the showers in their season; they shall be showers of blessing.^(A)
