⁴⁸ And when the Gentiles heard this, they began rejoicing and ^(A)glorifying the word of the Lord, and as many as were appointed to eternal life believed.

^4 (A)even as he ^(B)chose us in him ^(C)before the foundation of the world, that we should be ^(D)holy and blameless before him. In love

⁷ What then? ^(A)Israel failed to obtain what it was seeking. The elect obtained it, but the rest ^(B)were hardened,

²⁹ For those whom he ^(A)foreknew he also ^(B)predestined ^(C)to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be ^(D)the firstborn among many brothers. ³⁰ And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also ^(E)justified, and those whom he justified he also ^(F)glorified.

¹⁶ And ^(A)I have other sheep that are not of this fold. ^(B)I must bring them also, and ^(C)they will listen to my voice. So there will be ^(D)one flock, ^(E)one shepherd.

²⁶ but ^(A)you do not believe because you are not among my sheep. ^27 (B)My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.

⁵² and ^(A)not for the nation only, but also ^(B)to gather into one the children of God who are scattered abroad.

Stand Firm

¹³ But ^(A)we ought always to give thanks to God for you, ^(B)brothers beloved by the Lord, because God chose you ^(C)as the firstfruits^{[a] (D)}to be saved, ^(E)through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth. ¹⁴ To this he called you through ^(F)our gospel, ^(G)so that you may obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

⁵ even ^(A)when we were dead in our trespasses, ^(B)made us alive together with Christ—^(C)by grace you have been saved— ⁶ and raised us up with him and ^(D)seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, ⁷ so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable ^(E)riches of his grace in ^(F)kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. ⁸ For ^(G)by grace you have been saved ^(H)through faith. And this is ^(I)not your own doing; ^(J)it is the gift of God, ^9 (K)not a result of works, ^(L)so that no one may boast. ¹⁰ For ^(M)we are his workmanship, ^(N)created in Christ Jesus ^(O)for good works, ^(P)which God prepared beforehand, ^(Q)that we should walk in them.
