On Cyprus

⁴ The two of them, sent on their way by the Holy Spirit,^(A) went down to Seleucia and sailed from there to Cyprus.^(B)

³⁶ Joseph, a Levite from Cyprus, whom the apostles called Barnabas^(A) (which means “son of encouragement”),

² While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said,^(A) “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work^(B) to which I have called them.”^(C)

The Church in Antioch

¹⁹ Now those who had been scattered by the persecution that broke out when Stephen was killed^(A) traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus and Antioch,^(B) spreading the word only among Jews.

⁴ From there we put out to sea again and passed to the lee of Cyprus because the winds were against us.^(A)

²³ I only know that in every city the Holy Spirit warns me^(A) that prison and hardships are facing me.^(B)
