^16 (A)“I, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify to you about these things ^(B)for the churches. I am ^(C)the root and ^(D)the descendant of David, ^(E)the bright morning star.”

²⁵ to ^(A)the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, ^(B)be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time^[a] and now and forever. Amen.

³² And we bring you the good news ^(A)that what God promised to the fathers,

³ For ^(A)we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another. ⁴ But when ^(B)the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, ⁵ he saved us, ^(C)not because of works done by us in righteousness, but ^(D)according to his own mercy, by ^(E)the washing of regeneration and ^(F)renewal of the Holy Spirit, ⁶ whom he ^(G)poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior,

¹⁰ not pilfering, ^(A)but showing all good faith, ^(B)so that in everything they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior.

¹¹ For ^(C)the grace of God ^(D)has appeared, bringing salvation ^(E)for all people, ¹² training us to renounce ungodliness and ^(F)worldly passions, and ^(G)to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in ^(H)the present age, ^13 (I)waiting for our blessed ^(J)hope, the ^(K)appearing of the glory of our great ^(L)God and Savior Jesus Christ, ^14 (M)who gave himself for us to ^(N)redeem us from all lawlessness and ^(O)to purify for himself ^(P)a people for his own possession who are ^(Q)zealous for good works.
