¹² Then the ^(A)proconsul believed when he saw what had happened, being amazed at ^(B)the teaching of the Lord.

Acceptance and Opposition

14 In ^(A)Iconium ^(B)they entered the synagogue of the Jews together, and spoke in such a way ^(C)that a large number of people believed, both of Jews and of ^(D)Greeks.

The Jailer Converted

³¹ They said, “^(A)Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and ^(B)your household.” ³² And they spoke the word of God to him together with all who were in his house. ³³ And he took them ^(C)that very hour of the night and washed their wounds, and immediately he was baptized, he and all his household. ³⁴ And he brought them into his house and set ^[a]food before them, and was ^[b]overjoyed, since he had become a believer in God together with ^(D)his whole household.

^4 (A)And some of them were persuaded and joined ^(B)Paul and Silas, ^[a]along with a large number of the ^(C)God-fearing ^(D)Greeks and ^[b]a significant number of the ^(E)leading women.

³⁴ But some men joined him and believed, among whom also were Dionysius the ^(A)Areopagite and a woman named Damaris, and others with them.

¹⁷ This became known to all who lived in ^(A)Ephesus, both Jews and Greeks; and fear fell upon them all and the name of the Lord Jesus was being magnified. ¹⁸ Also many of those who had believed kept coming, confessing and disclosing their practices. ¹⁹ And many of those who practiced magic brought their books together and began burning them in the sight of everyone; and they added up the prices of ^[a]the books and found it to be fifty thousand ^[b](B)pieces of silver. ²⁰ So ^[c](C)the word of the Lord ^(D)was growing and prevailing mightily.
