¹² Then the proconsul believed, when he saw what had been done, being astonished at the teaching of the Lord.

^4 (A)For the weapons ^(B)of our warfare are not ^[a]carnal but ^(C)mighty in God ^(D)for pulling down strongholds, ^5 (E)casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,

⁷ who was with the proconsul, Sergius Paulus, an intelligent man. This man called for Barnabas and Saul and sought to hear the word of God.

²² So all bore witness to Him, and ^(A)marveled at the gracious words which proceeded out of His mouth. And they said, ^(B)“Is this not Joseph’s son?”

⁷ In that region there was an estate of the ^[a]leading citizen of the island, whose name was Publius, who received us and entertained us courteously for three days.

⁷ Now the men were about twelve in all.

^35 (A)Paul and Barnabas also remained in Antioch, teaching and preaching the word of the Lord, with many others also.

⁴⁹ And the word of the Lord was being spread throughout all the region.

¹⁰ And ^(A)they were not able to resist the wisdom and the Spirit by which he spoke.

⁴⁶ The officers answered, ^(A)“No man ever spoke like this Man!”
