⁵ While Peter was kept in prison, the church prayed fervently to God for him.^(A)

²⁶ If one member suffers, all suffer together with it; if one member is honored, all rejoice together with it.

¹⁷ pray without ceasing,

¹⁸ Pray in the Spirit at all times in every prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert and always persevere in supplication for all the saints.^{(A) 19} Pray also for me, so that when I speak a message may be given to me to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel,^{[a](B) 20} for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it boldly, as I must speak.^(C)

¹⁹ Again, truly I tell you, if two of you agree on earth about anything you ask, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven.^(A)

¹⁶ Therefore confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective.^(A)

³ Remember those who are in prison, as though you were in prison with them, those who are being tortured, as though you yourselves were being tortured.^[a]

¹¹ as you also join in helping us by your prayers, so that many may give thanks on our^[a] behalf for the blessing granted us through the prayers of many.^(A)
