¹⁷ But ^(A)motioning to them with his hand to keep silent, he declared to them how the Lord had brought him out of the prison. And he said, “Go, tell these things to James and to the brethren.” And he departed and went to another place.

⁴⁰ So when he had given him permission, Paul stood on the stairs and ^(A)motioned with his hand to the people. And when there was a great silence, he spoke to them in the ^(B)Hebrew language, saying,

³³ And they drew Alexander out of the multitude, the Jews putting him forward. And ^(A)Alexander ^(B)motioned with his hand, and wanted to make his defense to the people.

¹³ And after they had ^[a]become silent, ^(A)James answered, saying, “Men and brethren, listen to me:

¹⁶ Then Paul stood up, and motioning with his hand said, “Men of Israel, and ^(A)you who fear God, listen:

¹² for before certain men came from James, ^(A)he would eat with the Gentiles; but when they came, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing ^[a]those who were of the circumcision.

⁹ and when James, ^[a]Cephas, and John, who seemed to be ^(A)pillars, perceived ^(B)the grace that had been given to me, they gave me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship, ^(C)that we should go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised.

¹⁹ But ^(A)I saw none of the other apostles except ^(B)James, the Lord’s brother.

¹⁸ On the following day Paul went in with us to ^(A)James, and all the elders were present.

⁷ After that He was seen by James, then ^(A)by all the apostles.
