27 Now in these days (A)prophets came down from Jerusalem to Antioch. 28 And one of them named (B)Agabus stood up and foretold (C)by the Spirit that there would be a great (D)famine over all the world (this took place in the days of (E)Claudius). 29 So the disciples determined, every one according to his ability, (F)to send relief to (G)the brothers[a] living in Judea. 30 (H)And they did so, sending it to (I)the elders by the hand of Barnabas and Saul.

Famine Relief
27 In those days some prophets came down from Jerusalem to Antioch.(A) 28 Then one of them, named Agabus, stood up and predicted by the Spirit that there would be a severe famine throughout the Roman world.[a] This took place during the time of Claudius.[b](B) 29 So each of the disciples, according to his ability, determined to send relief to the brothers who lived in Judea.(C) 30 They did this, sending it to the elders(D) by means of Barnabas and Saul.
