Acts 10:44-48

⁴⁴While Peter was still speaking these words, ^(A)the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who were listening to the ^[a]message. ⁴⁵^(B)All the ^[b]Jewish believers who came with Peter were amazed, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had also been ^(C)poured out on the Gentiles. ⁴⁶For they were hearing them ^(D)speaking with tongues and exalting God. Then Peter responded, ⁴⁷“^(E)Surely no one can refuse the water for these to be baptized, who ^(F)have received the Holy Spirit just as we did, can he?” ⁴⁸And he ^(G)ordered them to be baptized ^(H)in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to stay on for a few days.

The Holy Spirit Falls on the Gentiles

⁴⁴While Peter was still speaking these words, ^(A)the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who heard the word. ⁴⁵^(B)And ^[a]those of the circumcision who believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, ^(C)because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also. ⁴⁶For they heard them speak with tongues and magnify God.

Then Peter answered, ⁴⁷“Can anyone forbid water, that these should not be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit ^(D)just as we have?” ⁴⁸^(E)And he commanded them to be baptized ^(F)in the name of the Lord. Then they asked him to stay a few days.
