⁵ Now send men to Joppa^(A) to bring back a man named Simon who is called Peter.

⁹ During the night Paul had a vision^(A) of a man of Macedonia^(B) standing and begging him, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.”

⁷ After much discussion, Peter got up and addressed them: “Brothers, you know that some time ago God made a choice among you that the Gentiles might hear from my lips the message of the gospel and believe.^(A)

³² Send to Joppa for Simon who is called Peter. He is a guest in the home of Simon the tanner, who lives by the sea.’

³⁸ Lydda was near Joppa; so when the disciples^(A) heard that Peter was in Lydda, they sent two men to him and urged him, “Please come at once!”

³⁶ In Joppa^(A) there was a disciple named Tabitha (in Greek her name is Dorcas); she was always doing good^(B) and helping the poor.

⁴² And he brought him to Jesus.

Jesus looked at him and said, “You are Simon son of John. You will be called^(A) Cephas” (which, when translated, is Peter^[a]).^(B)
