⁴⁰ but God raised him on the third day and allowed him to appear,^(A)

²¹ Through him you have come to trust in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your trust and hope are in God.

³⁰ But God raised him from the dead,^{(A) 31} and for many days he appeared to those who came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, and they are now his witnesses to the people.^(B)

¹⁴ because we know that the one who raised Jesus^[a] will also raise us with Jesus and will present us with you in his presence.^(A)

³ For I handed on to you as of first importance what I in turn had received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the scriptures^{(A) 4} and that he was buried and that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the scriptures^(B)

²⁴ But God raised him up, having released him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for him to be held in its power.^(A)

²⁰ Now may the God of peace, who brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant,^(A)

The Resurrection of the Dead

¹² Now if Christ is proclaimed as raised from the dead, how can some of you say there is no resurrection of the dead? ¹³ If there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ has not been raised, ¹⁴ and if Christ has not been raised, then our proclamation is in vain and your faith is in vain. ¹⁵ We are even found to be misrepresenting God, because we testified of God that he raised Christ—whom he did not raise if it is true that the dead are not raised.^{(A) 16} For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised. ¹⁷ If Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile, and you are still in your sins. ¹⁸ Then those also who have died^[a] in Christ have perished. ¹⁹ If for this life only we have hoped in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied.

²⁰ But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have died.^[b](B)

⁹ For to this end Christ died and lived again, so that he might be Lord of both the dead and the living.^(A)

¹¹ If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus^[a] from the dead will give life to your mortal bodies also through^[b] his Spirit that dwells in you.^(A)
