³ About ^[a]the ninth hour of the day ^(A)he saw clearly in a vision an angel of God coming in and saying to him, “Cornelius!”

The Seventy-Weeks Prophecy

²⁰ Now while I was speaking, praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the Lord my God for the holy mountain of my God, ²¹ yes, while I was speaking in prayer, the man ^(A)Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, ^[a]being caused to fly swiftly, reached me about the time of the evening offering.

A Lame Man Healed

3 Now Peter and John went up together ^(A)to the temple at the hour of prayer, ^(B)the ninth hour.

¹⁹ But at night ^(A)an angel of the Lord opened the prison doors and brought them out, and said,

^14 (A)Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will ^(B)inherit salvation?

⁴ having become so much better than the angels, as ^(A)He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

^23 (A)For there stood by me this night an angel of the God to whom I belong and ^(B)whom I serve,

⁷ Now behold, ^(A)an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in the prison; and he struck Peter on the side and raised him up, saying, “Arise quickly!” And his chains fell off his hands. ⁸ Then the angel said to him, “Gird yourself and tie on your sandals”; and so he did. And he said to him, “Put on your garment and follow me.” ⁹ So he went out and followed him, and ^(B)did not know that what was done by the angel was real, but thought ^(C)he was seeing a vision. ¹⁰ When they were past the first and the second guard posts, they came to the iron gate that leads to the city, ^(D)which opened to them of its own accord; and they went out and went down one street, and immediately the angel departed from him.

¹¹ And when Peter had come to himself, he said, “Now I know for certain that ^(E)the Lord has sent His angel, and ^(F)has delivered me from the hand of Herod and from all the expectation of the Jewish people.”

^13 (A)And he told us how he had seen an angel standing in his house, who said to him, ‘Send men to Joppa, and call for Simon whose surname is Peter,

³⁰ So Cornelius said, ^[a]“Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and behold, ^(A)a man stood before me ^(B)in bright clothing,
