10 ท่านบังเกิดความหิวและใคร่จะรับประทานอาหาร ขณะที่คนเตรียมอาหารอยู่ ท่านก็ตกอยู่ในภวังค์ 11 เห็นสวรรค์เปิดออก และมีสิ่งหนึ่งเหมือนผ้าผืนใหญ่ ซึ่งทั้ง 4 มุมหย่อนวางลงบนพื้นโลก 12 ในนั้นมีสัตว์สี่เท้าทุกชนิด พวกสัตว์เลื้อยคลาน และพวกนกในอากาศก็เช่นกัน 13 แล้วมีเสียงหนึ่งบอกท่านว่า “เปโตร จงลุกขึ้นเถิด ฆ่าและกินเสีย” 14 เปโตรตอบว่า “ไม่ได้หรอก พระองค์ท่าน ข้าพเจ้าไม่เคยรับประทานสิ่งที่ไม่บริสุทธิ์หรือมีมลทิน” 15 เสียงนั้นกล่าวกับเปโตรเป็นครั้งที่สองว่า “สิ่งที่พระเจ้าได้ทำให้สะอาดแล้ว ก็อย่าเรียกว่าไม่บริสุทธิ์” 16 หลังจากที่เกิดขึ้น 3 ครั้งแล้ว ผืนผ้านั้นก็หายกลับขึ้นไปในสวรรค์

10 He became hungry and wanted something to eat, and while the meal was being prepared, he fell into a trance.(A) 11 He saw heaven opened(B) and something like a large sheet being let down to earth by its four corners. 12 It contained all kinds of four-footed animals, as well as reptiles and birds. 13 Then a voice told him, “Get up, Peter. Kill and eat.”
14 “Surely not, Lord!”(C) Peter replied. “I have never eaten anything impure or unclean.”(D)
15 The voice spoke to him a second time, “Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.”(E)
16 This happened three times, and immediately the sheet was taken back to heaven.
