¹⁰ Then he became very hungry and wanted to eat; but while they made ready, he fell into a trance

¹⁷ “Now ^(A)it happened, when I returned to Jerusalem and was praying in the temple, that I was in a trance

² Immediately ^(A)I was in the Spirit; and behold, ^(B)a throne set in heaven, and One sat on the throne. ^3 [a]And He who sat there was ^(C)like a jasper and a sardius stone in appearance; ^(D)and there was a rainbow around the throne, in appearance like an emerald.

^10 (A)I was in the Spirit on ^(B)the Lord’s Day, and I heard behind me ^(C)a loud voice, as of a trumpet,

² I know a man ^(A)in Christ who fourteen years ago—whether in the body I do not know, or whether out of the body I do not know, God knows—such a one ^(B)was caught up to the third heaven. ³ And I know such a man—whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows— ⁴ how he was caught up into ^(C)Paradise and heard inexpressible words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.

^18 (B)Now in the morning, as He returned to the city, He was hungry.

Jesus Is Lord of the Sabbath^(A)

12 At that time ^(B)Jesus went through the grainfields on the Sabbath. And His disciples were hungry, and began to ^(C)pluck heads of grain and to eat. ² And when the Pharisees saw it, they said to Him, “Look, Your disciples are doing what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath!”

³ But He said to them, “Have you not read ^(D)what David did when he was hungry, he and those who were with him:

² And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry.

^2 (A)In the visions of God He took me into the land of Israel and ^(B)set me on a very high mountain; on it toward the south was something like the structure of a city.

²⁴ Then ^(A)the Spirit took me up and brought me in a vision by the Spirit of God into ^[a]Chaldea, to those in captivity. And the vision that I had seen went up from me.
