⁸ But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you;^(A) and you will be my witnesses^(B) in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria,^(C) and to the ends of the earth.”^(D)

¹⁹ Therefore go and make disciples of all nations,^(A) baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,^(B)

¹⁹ by the power of signs and wonders,^(A) through the power of the Spirit of God.^(B) So from Jerusalem^(C) all the way around to Illyricum, I have fully proclaimed the gospel of Christ.^(D)

¹⁵ He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.^(A)

³³ With great power the apostles continued to testify^(A) to the resurrection^(B) of the Lord Jesus. And God’s grace^(C) was so powerfully at work in them all

³⁸ how God anointed^(A) Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing^(B) all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him.^(C)

³⁹ “We are witnesses^(D) of everything he did in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem. They killed him by hanging him on a cross,^{(E) 40} but God raised him from the dead^(F) on the third day and caused him to be seen. ⁴¹ He was not seen by all the people,^(G) but by witnesses whom God had already chosen—by us who ate^(H) and drank with him after he rose from the dead.

The Holy Spirit Comes at Pentecost

2 When the day of Pentecost^(A) came, they were all together^(B) in one place. ² Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting.^{(C) 3} They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. ⁴ All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit^(D) and began to speak in other tongues^[a](E) as the Spirit enabled them.

⁴⁶ He told them, “This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer^(A) and rise from the dead on the third day,^{(B) 47} and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name^(C) to all nations,^(D) beginning at Jerusalem.^{(E) 48} You are witnesses^(F) of these things. ⁴⁹ I am going to send you what my Father has promised;^(G) but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.”
