²¹ “Therefore, of these men who have accompanied us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us,

²⁷ And ^(A)you also will bear witness, because ^(B)you have been with Me from the beginning.

The Seventy Sent Out

10 After these things the Lord appointed ^[a]seventy others also, and ^(A)sent them two by two before His face into every city and place where He Himself was about to go. ² Then He said to them, ^(B)“The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore ^(C)pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.

Jesus the True Shepherd

10 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. ² But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. ³ To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep by ^(A)name and leads them out. ⁴ And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. ⁵ Yet they will by no means follow a ^(B)stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.” ⁶ Jesus used this illustration, but they did not understand the things which He spoke to them.

Jesus the Good Shepherd

⁷ Then Jesus said to them again, “Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. ⁸ All who ever came ^[a]before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. ^9 (C)I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.

² Also, in time past, when Saul was king over us, ^(A)you were the one who led Israel out and brought them in; and the Lord said to you, ^(B)‘You shall shepherd My people Israel, and be ruler over Israel.’ ”

² And he said to them: “I ^(A)am one hundred and twenty years old today. I can no longer ^(B)go out and come in. Also the Lord has said to me, ^(C)‘You shall not cross over this Jordan.’

^17 (A)who may go out before them and go in before them, who may lead them out and bring them in, that the congregation of the Lord may not be ^(B)like sheep which have no shepherd.”

⁷ Now, O Lord my God, You have made Your servant king instead of my father David, but I am a ^(A)little child; I do not know how ^(B)to go out or come in.
