12 When Peter saw it, he addressed the people, ‘You Israelites,[a] why do you wonder at this, or why do you stare at us, as though by our own power or piety we had made him walk? 13 The God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, the God of our ancestors has glorified his servant[b] Jesus, whom you handed over and rejected in the presence of Pilate, though he had decided to release him. 14 But you rejected the Holy and Righteous One and asked to have a murderer given to you, 15 and you killed the Author of life, whom God raised from the dead. To this we are witnesses. 16 And by faith in his name, his name itself has made this man strong, whom you see and know; and the faith that is through Jesus[c] has given him this perfect health in the presence of all of you.

17 ‘And now, friends,[d] I know that you acted in ignorance, as did also your rulers. 18 In this way God fulfilled what he had foretold through all the prophets, that his Messiah[e] would suffer. 19 Repent therefore, and turn to God so that your sins may be wiped out, 20 so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that he may send the Messiah[f] appointed for you, that is, Jesus,

12 When Peter saw this, he said to them: “Fellow Israelites, why does this surprise you? Why do you stare at us as if by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk? 13 The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob,(A) the God of our fathers,(B) has glorified his servant Jesus. You handed him over(C) to be killed, and you disowned him before Pilate,(D) though he had decided to let him go.(E) 14 You disowned the Holy(F) and Righteous One(G) and asked that a murderer be released to you.(H) 15 You killed the author of life, but God raised him from the dead.(I) We are witnesses(J) of this. 16 By faith in the name of Jesus,(K) this man whom you see and know was made strong. It is Jesus’ name and the faith that comes through him that has completely healed him, as you can all see.

17 “Now, fellow Israelites,(L) I know that you acted in ignorance,(M) as did your leaders.(N) 18 But this is how God fulfilled(O) what he had foretold(P) through all the prophets,(Q) saying that his Messiah would suffer.(R) 19 Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out,(S) that times of refreshing may come from the Lord, 20 and that he may send the Messiah,(T) who has been appointed for you—even Jesus.
