9 Now there was a man named Simon, who formerly was practicing (A)magic in the city and astounding the people of Samaria, (B)claiming to be someone great; 10 and they all, from smallest to greatest, were giving attention to him, saying, “(C)This man is what is called the Great Power of God.” 11 And they were giving him attention because he had for a long time astounded them with his (D)magic arts.

Simon the Sorcerer
9 Now for some time a man named Simon had practiced sorcery(A) in the city and amazed all the people of Samaria. He boasted that he was someone great,(B) 10 and all the people, both high and low, gave him their attention and exclaimed, “This man is rightly called the Great Power of God.”(C) 11 They followed him because he had amazed them for a long time with his sorcery.
