59 And as they were stoning Stephen, (A)he called out, “Lord Jesus, (B)receive my spirit.” 60 And (C)falling to his knees he cried out with a loud voice, (D)“Lord, do not hold this sin against them.” And when he had said this, (E)he fell asleep.

Saul Ravages the Church

And (F)Saul (G)approved of his execution.

And there arose on that day a great persecution against the church in Jerusalem, and (H)they were all scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles. Devout men buried Stephen and made great lamentation over him. But (I)Saul was ravaging the church, and entering house after house, he (J)dragged off men and women and committed them to prison.

And Saul(E) approved of their killing him.

The Church Persecuted and Scattered

On that day a great persecution broke out against the church in Jerusalem, and all except the apostles were scattered(F) throughout Judea and Samaria.(G) Godly men buried Stephen and mourned deeply for him. But Saul(H) began to destroy the church.(I) Going from house to house, he dragged off both men and women and put them in prison.
