Acts 5:40-42

⁴⁰And they agreed with him, and when they had ^(A)called for the apostles ^(B)and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go. ⁴¹So they departed from the presence of the council, ^(C)rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for ^[a]His name. ⁴²And daily ^(D)in the temple, and in every house, ^(E)they did not cease teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ.

New International Version

⁴⁰His speech persuaded them. They called the apostles in and had them flogged.^(A) Then they ordered them not to speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.

⁴¹The apostles left the Sanhedrin, rejoicing^(B) because they had been counted worthy of suffering disgrace for the Name.^(C) ⁴²Day after day, in the temple courts^(D) and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news^(E) that Jesus is the Messiah.^(F)
