3 But Peter said, “Ananias, for what reason has Satan filled your heart, that you lied to the Holy Spirit and kept back for yourself some of the proceeds of the piece of land? 4 When it[a] remained to you, did it not remain yours? And when it[b] was sold, was it at your disposal? How is it that you have contrived this deed in your heart? You have not lied to people, but to God!”
5 And when[c] Ananias heard these words, he fell down and[d] died. And great fear came on all those who heard about it.[e]

New International Version
3 Then Peter said, “Ananias, how is it that Satan(A) has so filled your heart(B) that you have lied to the Holy Spirit(C) and have kept for yourself some of the money you received for the land?(D) 4 Didn’t it belong to you before it was sold? And after it was sold, wasn’t the money at your disposal?(E) What made you think of doing such a thing? You have not lied just to human beings but to God.”(F)
5 When Ananias heard this, he fell down and died.(G) And great fear(H) seized all who heard what had happened.
