‘You will not let your Holy One experience corruption.’(G)
36 “For David, after he had served the purpose of God in his own generation, died,[b] was laid beside his ancestors, and experienced corruption,(H) 37 but he whom God raised up experienced no corruption. 38 Let it be known to you therefore, brothers and sisters,[c] that through this man forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you;(I) 39 by this Jesus[d] everyone who believes is set free from all those sins[e] from which you could not be freed by the law of Moses.(J) 40 Beware, therefore, that what the prophets said does not happen to you:(K)

The Report of the Guard
11 While they were going, some of the guard went into the city and told the chief priests everything that had happened.(A) 12 After the priests[a] had assembled with the elders, they devised a plan to give a large sum of money to the soldiers, 13 telling them, “You must say, ‘His disciples came by night and stole him away while we were asleep.’ 14 If this comes to the governor’s ears, we will satisfy him and keep you out of trouble.”(B) 15 So they took the money and did as they were directed. And this story is still told among the Judeans to this day.

The Guards’ Report
11 While the women were on their way, some of the guards(A) went into the city and reported to the chief priests everything that had happened. 12 When the chief priests had met with the elders and devised a plan, they gave the soldiers a large sum of money, 13 telling them, “You are to say, ‘His disciples came during the night and stole him away(B) while we were asleep.’ 14 If this report gets to the governor,(C) we will satisfy him and keep you out of trouble.” 15 So the soldiers took the money and did as they were instructed. And this story has been widely circulated among the Jews to this very day.
