3 because you are especially familiar with all the customs and controversies of the Jews; therefore I beg of you to listen to me patiently.(A)
4 “All the Jews know my way of life from my youth, a life spent from the beginning among my own people and in Jerusalem.(B) 5 They have known for a long time, if they are willing to testify, that I have belonged to the strictest sect of our religion and lived as a Pharisee.(C)

3 and especially so because you are well acquainted with all the Jewish customs(A) and controversies.(B) Therefore, I beg you to listen to me patiently.
4 “The Jewish people all know the way I have lived ever since I was a child,(C) from the beginning of my life in my own country, and also in Jerusalem. 5 They have known me for a long time(D) and can testify, if they are willing, that I conformed to the strictest sect(E) of our religion, living as a Pharisee.(F)
