³⁸ Peter said to them, “^(A)Repent, and each of you be ^(B)baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. ³⁹ For ^(C)the promise is for you and your children and for all who are ^(D)far away, as many as the Lord our God will call to Himself.” ⁴⁰ And with many other words he solemnly ^(E)testified and kept on urging them, saying, “^[a]Be saved from this ^(F)perverse generation!” ⁴¹ So then, those who had received his word were baptized; and that day there were added about three thousand ^[b](G)souls. ⁴² They were ^(H)continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to ^(I)the breaking of bread and ^(J)to ^[c]prayer.

^43 [d]Everyone kept feeling a sense of awe; and many ^(K)wonders and ^[e]signs were taking place through the apostles. ⁴⁴ And all the believers ^[f]were together and ^(L)had all things in common; ⁴⁵ and they ^(M)would sell their property and possessions and share them with all, to the extent that anyone had need. ^46 (N)Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and ^(O)breaking bread ^[g]from house to house, they were taking their ^[h]meals together with gladness and ^[i]sincerity of heart, ⁴⁷ praising God and ^(P)having favor with all the people. And the Lord ^(Q)was adding to ^[j]their number day by day ^(R)those who were being saved.
