³⁸ Peter said to them, “^(A)Repent, and each of you be ^(B)baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

³² And we are ^(A)witnesses ^[a]of these things; and ^(B)so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey Him.”

² This is the only thing I want to find out from you: did you receive the Spirit by works of ^[a]the Law, or by ^(A)hearing ^[b]with faith?

³⁷ Now on ^(A)the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “^(B)If anyone is thirsty, ^[a]let him come to Me and drink. ³⁸ The one who believes in Me, ^(C)as the Scripture said, ‘^[b]From his innermost being will flow rivers of ^(D)living water.’” ³⁹ But this He said ^(E)in reference to the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were to receive; for ^(F)the Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet ^(G)glorified.

The Holy Spirit

¹⁶ I will ask the Father, and He will give you another ^[a](B)Helper, so that He may be with you forever; ¹⁷ the Helper is ^(C)the Spirit of truth, ^(D)whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him; but you know Him because He remains with you and will be in you.
