29 [a]Brothers, I may confidently say to you regarding the (A)patriarch David that he both (B)died and (C)was buried, and (D)his tomb is [b]with us to this day. 30 So because he was (E)a prophet and knew that (F)God had sworn to him with an oath to seat one [c]of his descendants on his throne, 31 he looked ahead and spoke of the resurrection of the [d]Christ, that (G)He was neither abandoned to Hades, nor did His flesh [e]suffer decay. 32 It is this Jesus whom (H)God raised up, [f]a fact to which we are all (I)witnesses. 33 Therefore, [g]since He has been exalted [h](J)at the right hand of God, and (K)has received (L)the promise of the Holy Spirit from the Father, He has (M)poured out this which you both see and hear. 34 For it was not David who ascended into [i]heaven, but he himself says:

(N)The Lord said to my Lord,
Sit at My right hand,
35 Until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet.”’

36 Therefore let all the (O)house of Israel know for certain that God has made Him both (P)Lord and [j]Christ—this Jesus (Q)whom you crucified.”

29 “Fellow Israelites,(A) I can tell you confidently that the patriarch(B) David died and was buried,(C) and his tomb is here(D) to this day. 30 But he was a prophet and knew that God had promised him on oath that he would place one of his descendants on his throne.(E) 31 Seeing what was to come, he spoke of the resurrection of the Messiah, that he was not abandoned to the realm of the dead, nor did his body see decay.(F) 32 God has raised this Jesus to life,(G) and we are all witnesses(H) of it. 33 Exalted(I) to the right hand of God,(J) he has received from the Father(K) the promised Holy Spirit(L) and has poured out(M) what you now see and hear. 34 For David did not ascend to heaven, and yet he said,

“‘The Lord said to my Lord:
    “Sit at my right hand
35 until I make your enemies
    a footstool for your feet.”’[a](N)

36 “Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord(O) and Messiah.”(P)
