³ And he said, ^(A)“Into what then were you baptized?” They said, “Into ^(B)John's baptism.”

²⁵ He had been instructed in ^(A)the way of the Lord. And ^(B)being fervent in spirit,^[a] he spoke and taught accurately the things concerning Jesus, though he knew only ^(C)the baptism of John.

² and of ^(A)instruction about washings,^{[a] (B)}the laying on of hands, ^(C)the resurrection of the dead, and ^(D)eternal judgement.

²⁴ Before his coming, ^(A)John had proclaimed ^(B)a baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel. ²⁵ And as John was finishing his course, ^(C)he said, ‘What do you suppose that I am? I am not he. No, but behold, after me one is coming, the sandals of whose feet I am not worthy to untie.’
