⁹ Now ^(A)the Lord spoke to Paul in the night by a vision, “Do not be afraid, but speak, and do not keep silent;

The Plot Against Paul

¹¹ But ^(A)the following night the Lord stood by him and said, ^[a]“Be of good cheer, Paul; for as you have testified for Me in ^(B)Jerusalem, so you must also bear witness at ^(C)Rome.”

⁶ “And you, son of man, ^(A)do not be afraid of them nor be afraid of their words, though ^(B)briers and thorns are with you and you dwell among scorpions; ^(C)do not be afraid of their words or dismayed by their looks, ^(D)though they are a rebellious house. ^7 (E)You shall speak My words to them, whether they hear or whether they refuse, for they are rebellious. ⁸ But you, son of man, hear what I say to you. Do not be rebellious like that rebellious house; open your mouth and ^(F)eat what I give you.”

¹⁹ and for me, that utterance may be given to me, ^(A)that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, ²⁰ for which ^(B)I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

^23 (A)For there stood by me this night an angel of the God to whom I belong and ^(B)whom I serve, ²⁴ saying, ‘Do not be afraid, Paul; you must be brought before Caesar; and indeed God has granted you all those who sail with you.’ ²⁵ Therefore take heart, men, ^(C)for I believe God that it will be just as it was told me.
