27 And when he wanted to go across to (A)Achaia, (B)the brethren encouraged him and wrote to (C)the disciples to welcome him; and when he had arrived, he greatly [a]helped those who had believed through grace, 28 for he powerfully refuted the Jews in public, demonstrating (D)by the Scriptures that (E)Jesus was the [b]Christ.

27 When Apollos wanted to go to Achaia,(A) the brothers and sisters(B) encouraged him and wrote to the disciples there to welcome him. When he arrived, he was a great help to those who by grace had believed. 28 For he vigorously refuted his Jewish opponents in public debate, proving from the Scriptures(C) that Jesus was the Messiah.(D)
