3 explaining and proving that it was necessary for the Messiah[a] to suffer and to rise from the dead and saying, “This is the Messiah,[b] Jesus whom I am proclaiming to you.”(A) 4 Some of them were persuaded and joined Paul and Silas, as did a great many of the devout Greeks and not a few of the leading women.(B) 5 But the Jews became jealous, and with the help of some ruffians in the marketplaces they formed a mob and set the city in an uproar. While they were searching for Paul and Silas to bring them out to the assembly, they attacked Jason’s house.(C)

New International Version
3 explaining and proving that the Messiah had to suffer(A) and rise from the dead.(B) “This Jesus I am proclaiming to you is the Messiah,”(C) he said. 4 Some of the Jews were persuaded and joined Paul and Silas,(D) as did a large number of God-fearing Greeks and quite a few prominent women.
5 But other Jews were jealous; so they rounded up some bad characters from the marketplace, formed a mob and started a riot in the city.(E) They rushed to Jason’s(F) house in search of Paul and Silas in order to bring them out to the crowd.[a]
