3 [a]explaining and [b]giving evidence that the [c]Christ (A)had to suffer and (B)rise again from the dead, and saying, “(C)This Jesus whom I am proclaiming to you is the [d]Christ.” 4 (D)And some of them were persuaded and joined (E)Paul and Silas, [e]along with a large number of the (F)God-fearing (G)Greeks and [f]a number of the (H)leading women. 5 But (I)the Jews, becoming jealous and taking along some wicked men from the market place, formed a mob and set the city in an uproar; and attacking the house of (J)Jason, they were seeking to bring them out to the people.

3 explaining and proving that the Messiah had to suffer(A) and rise from the dead.(B) “This Jesus I am proclaiming to you is the Messiah,”(C) he said. 4 Some of the Jews were persuaded and joined Paul and Silas,(D) as did a large number of God-fearing Greeks and quite a few prominent women.
5 But other Jews were jealous; so they rounded up some bad characters from the marketplace, formed a mob and started a riot in the city.(E) They rushed to Jason’s(F) house in search of Paul and Silas in order to bring them out to the crowd.[a]
